A Heartfelt New Beginning: Why I Chose Change for Izaria Home

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been asked some big questions—questions that made me pause, reflect, and feel a mix of emotions.

Why are you closing a website to open a new one? Why not keep White Home Woods?
Why would you shut down an Instagram account with 10k followers? Are you out of your mind?
Why go back to subscription boxes? Why change the name? White Home Woods was already known!

At first, these questions felt overwhelming. They poked at my insecurities and made me wonder if I was doing the right thing. But yesterday, for the first time, I found myself explaining all my reasons to another business owner, and it felt freeing.

White Home Woods had lost its direction. What once brought me joy became something I struggled to connect with. I wasn’t enjoying it anymore. I realized I needed to simplify and focus—on creating boxes with true meaning, where every item is selected with care and purpose.

This isn’t a money-making venture for me. Honestly, I barely make anything from the boxes. This business is my therapy. It’s where I pour my heart to create something I’m proud of. It’s my way of offering comfort and connection to those who might need it.

These aren’t boxes filled with random items grabbed from clearance pallets. Every single piece is carefully considered. Does it serve a purpose? Does it harmonize with the other items? Does it capture the essence of the season? These details matter deeply to me, even if they sometimes get overlooked when compared to discount boxes.

Why the Name Change?
White Home Woods was a name born in 2019, inspired by my white house surrounded by trees. It served its purpose then, but it no longer resonates with where I am today.

Izaria is deeply personal. It carries pieces of my children’s names, the ones who inspire me to be the best version of myself. They’re my “why.” They deserve a mom who chases her purpose and finds joy, even as she battles the challenges of depression and anxiety. This business keeps me grounded, gives me purpose, and lets me create something meaningful.

The Reality of Small Business
I’d be lying if I said doubts never creep in—especially when I see negative comments about small businesses on social media. I know not everyone understands the countless hours, sleepless nights, tears, and effort that go into something like this. But I hope those who do see it, those who have stood by me through the ups and downs, know how much I appreciate their kindness and patience.

A New Vision for Izaria Home
This new chapter is about more than just me. It’s about supporting other small businesses, showcasing the value of handmade and thoughtfully crafted goods. I hope to share with others the beauty of knowing where their items come from and why they’re special.

My heart is full of ideas, and I’m diving into this new venture with the hope of having fun, creating with love, and sharing the journey with my children. To those of you who have been with me since the first box in 2021, thank you. Your kindness has carried me through the rocky moments, and I hope you’ll join me in this next chapter.
